Duxbury

Standish Shore

A deep lot on Duxbury Bay was chosen as the site of a shingle-style waterfront home to be built by a couple settling on the South Shore.

The traditional front elevation belies the open space and soaring ceiling of the living area inside. The home is filled with custom woodwork and architectural detail, with large expanses of glass overlooking the water.

Reclaimed beams were sourced from an old barn and add warmth and character to the kitchen

We thoroughly enjoyed working with JB Robbie Builders on our new home in Duxbury. Jack was there right from the start to patiently guide us during the building process from permits to final inspections. Jack's team and subcontractors were highly skilled and all very personable which made the build seamless and pleasurable. The quality of the work and materials are all outstanding. Our project manager Steve, was there for us 24/7 as we struggled to make decisions and to ensure all the work was flawless and completed on schedule. Their creativity shows through many aspects of our home. For example, Jack and Steve came up with innovative solutions for a distinctive wooden ceiling open to a cupola in the family room and were able to find, restore and install beautiful heavy antique beam accents for our kitchen's cathedral ceiling. More mundane, but never-the-less important, their project cost estimations were accurate and billing was detailed and fully transparent. Their accountant Michele, was easy to work with and able to address all questions regarding the budget. Thank you Jack and team for a great experience and our beautiful home!
